The Camp
Leach Properties, LLC currently holds a single property: a lakeside camp on Webber Pond in
Vassalboro, Maine. The camp has been part of our family for over four decades, first belonging
to extended family in the early 1980s and later purchased through the LLC in 2007 to ensure it
remained in the family for future generations.
The camp has served as a gathering place for countless memories — summer boating and fishing,
horseshoe games, family celebrations, and evenings spent around around the table sharing amazing
food off the grill.
Fourth of July fireworks, birthday parties, and days on the water have been traditions
here for years. These experiences have made the camp more than a physical property; it is a place
of connection and continuity, with deep sentimental value to those who have grown up visiting it.
The setting is generally quiet, with easy access to the water for boating, fishing, and seasonal activities.
Surrounded by trees and wildlife, the location offers a peaceful retreat while remaining close to
essential services in central Maine. Although the camp is currently reserved for family use, it
reflects the qualities many seek in a lakeside getaway — privacy, natural beauty, and a sense of place.
Location
The camp is located on Webber Pond in Vassalboro, Maine.
Webber Pond is a 1,233-acre freshwater lake located in Vassalboro, a rural
community in central Maine between Augusta and Waterville. The pond is known
for its quiet shoreline, recreational boating, and excellent warmwater fishing.
Access is typically seasonal, with activity levels rising during the summer and early fall.
The pond supports a variety of species including bass, pickerel, perch, and stocked trout.
It is a popular destination for anglers and small-craft boating—canoes, kayaks, paddleboards,
and fishing boats are common sights. Local regulations encourage responsible use of the water,
and a public boat launch allows visiting boaters access to the pond.
Surrounding the lake are a mix of private seasonal camps and year-round homes. The landscape
is primarily wooded, offering privacy, shade, and wildlife viewing. Loons, herons, osprey, and eagles
are routinely seen on or near the water, and the area remains relatively peaceful compared to
busier southern Maine lakes.
The pond draws interest from both residents and visitors for its:
- Fishing and boating
- Calm water suitable for paddling
- Scenic sunrise and sunset views
- Autumn foliage around the shoreline
- Winter access for ice fishing and seasonal activities (weather permitting)
For privacy, detailed directions and the exact address are only shared by arrangement.
